August 11, 2022 - Markham Aquatic Club today announced that Coach Takeo Inoki has joined the coaching staff and will lead MAC's Bronze Group and Masters Program. Under the direction of Head Coach Sean Baker, Coach Takeo will also support MAC's older age groups as part of its age group development strategy. On June 25 2022, MAC swimmer Mia delivered a TEDTalk to a Vancouver audience on the theme of staying positive. Drawing on her experience as a young swimmer, Mia wore her MAC t-shirt because her topic was about her first swim meet and how she chose to be positive when she first jumped off from the starting block. Mia was accepted as one of the speakers for TEDx Youth @Granville Island. Six MAC swimmers have been named to the 2022 Canadian Senior and Junior National swim teams for upcoming international competitions. Following the 2022 Bell Canadian Swimming Trials (April 5-10 Victoria BC), MAC swimmers Javier Acevedo (24), Tessa Cieplucha (23) and Alexander Axon (18) qualified and were named by Swimming Canada to join the Senior National team.
