ENDI BABI, HEAD COACH

Endi Babi joins MAC as Head Coach for the 2026 season. In his coaching career so far, Endi has worked with swimmers that have broken provincial and national records, earned nominations for Canadian Junior and Canadian Senior National Teams, and had a lot of fun along the way. Endi has also been selected to coach for Swim Ontario and Swimming Canada initiatives, including as Coach for Team Ontario at the 2022 Canada Games and for Team Canada at the 2023 World Junior Championships. He has long been exposed to world-class swimming and coaching and has been fortunate enough to meet many of his heroes. Endi's training philosophy provides a lot of variety for the developing swimmer, but maintaining consistently high standards in terms of effort, execution, and attitude. His approach is to create a rewarding and engaging daily training environment where swimmers can find joy and adventure in the pursuit of their athletic goals. Endi holds bachelors' degrees in English and Philosophy from Western Kentucky University where he swam for the Hilltoppers. He is a Chartered Professional Coach with the Coaching Association of Canada, has his NCCP301 and was recently awarded his Advanced Coaching Diploma from the Canadian Sport Institute Ontario.

GLEN STEACY, AGE GROUP COACH

Coach Glen is in his 11th year as a MAC age group coach and his 17th year of swim coaching. A former Canadian Junior National 1500m Freestyle Champion (1996), U.S. College Swimmer and Canadian University Masters/Varsity Coach, Glen has acquired a lifetime of experience within our sport. Glen began swimming in London, Ontario at the age of six with the London Aquatic Club. He swam at LAC for 13 years, three years as a National Qualifier. Glen received a swimming scholarship and studied business at St. John’s University in New York, where he swam four years in NCAA Division 1 and was Team Captain in his senior year. Before joining MAC, Glen began his coaching career with McGill University Masters Swimming, producing Provincial and National record holders while also serving as Assistant Coach for the McGill University varsity swim team. Glen holds an NCCP Level II Coaching Association of Canada (CAC) certification.

HAZEM SAYED, AGE GROUP COACH

Hazem Sayed has dedicated his life to high-performance sport, bringing more than 25 years of international coaching experience in competitive swimming and athlete development. His journey began as a competitive swimmer with Al Ahly Sporting Club in Egypt, one of Africa's most successful and prestigious sports clubs. After competing throughout his youth until graduating from high school, Hazem continued his athletic career as a national-level rowing athlete while earning his Bachelor's Degree in Physical Education.
Hazem began his coaching career in Egypt in 1999, where he quickly established a reputation for developing competitive swimmers through strong technical instruction, discipline, and long-term athlete development. In 2005, he moved to the United Arab Emirates, where he coached national-level swimmers who achieved medal-winning performances at the Asian Swimming Championships. Alongside coaching, Hazem served as the Head of Physical Education at K-12 schools. He founded and operated a successful swimming academy with over 250 swimmers, overseeing athlete development, coach education, and program management. Since joining MAC in 2018, Hazem has continued developing swimmers from the grassroots level through provincial competition. He has successfully led MAC's Discovery and Discovery Festival programs, helping many young swimmers transition into competitive swimming and achieve provincial qualifying standards. He currently coaches the Bantam and JAG groups, where his focus is on building strong technical foundations, race skills, sport ethic, confidence, and a lifelong passion for excellence.
Hazem believes that good coaching starts with developing both the athlete and the person. His coaching philosophy emphasizes technical excellence, mental resilience, discipline, accountability, teamwork, and creating an environment where every swimmer is empowered to reach their full potential.
Committed to continuous professional development, Hazem regularly attends leading international coaching conferences, including the ASCA World Clinic and the Canadian Swimming Coaches Association Conference.
Hazem is an NCCP Level 2 Certified Coach and is currently completing NCCP Level 3 certification.

CARTER YEUDALL, AGE GROUP COACH

Coach Carter joined MAC in 2020. Before coming to MAC, he spent five years as an Age Group Coach with the Oakville Aquatic Club, where he was instrumental in developing young athletes to achieving regional and provincial time standards as well as breaking many club records. In addition to coaching, Carter was also a competitive swimmer for over 10 years. Carter is a NCCP Level II coach and holds an NSL certification in good standing. Carter has worked with athletes from grassroots all the way to the Olympic Level, and since joining MAC has coached many Provincial records and a National Record.

JOE COLLIER, AGE GROUP COACH

Coach Joe joins MAC after serving as Head Age Group Coach with the Barrie Trojan Swim Club, where he coached athletes at the grassroots, regional, provincial and national levels, including provincial record holders. A former competitive swimmer with Barrie and Laurentian University, Joe has spent much of his life involved in the sport as both an athlete and coach.
Joe is an NCCP Level 2 trained coach. He is passionate about developing young swimmers by building a strong technical foundation and consistent training habits that help athletes progress toward higher levels in the sport. Joe is excited to join MAC and looks forward to working with its athletes and coaching staff.

MADDI BURNETT, OLYMPIC PROSPECTS DIRECTOR

Maddi joins Markham Aquatic Club with a strong connection to the club, having previously swum with MAC for seven years. She has continued her involvement in the sport through coaching competitive swimmers and is excited to now take on a new role within the program. Maddi holds her NCCP Level 1 coaching certification and has experience working with swimmers across developmental and competitive levels.
With two teaching degrees, Maddi brings a unique perspective to coaching and understands that every swimmer learns and develops differently. She is passionate about getting to know each athlete as an individual and finding the approaches, explanations, and strategies that work best for them. Her goal is to create an environment where every swimmer feels supported, challenged, and confident in their ability to succeed.
Maddi is excited to continue growing with MAC and looks forward to helping athletes develop not only as swimmers, but also as confident and resilient individuals both in and out of the pool.
MARTIN GURRIN, SENIOR COACH ADVISOR - PRE-COMPETITIVE PROGRAM

Coach Martin joined MAC in 2022. Over a 30+ year career, Martin has worked in several Canadian provinces, at virtually every level of swimming, from pre-competitive and competitive age group, to senior swimmers, triathletes and Para swimmers. Under Martin’s direction, countless young athletes have had success at all levels of competition from Provincial and National Championships to International and Para World Championships. Martin has a high degree of technical knowledge, dedication and passion for coaching excellence, along with business management organizational talent that gives MAC's Olympic Prospects program the edge. Young swimmers are critically important to MAC and Martin's goal is to establish a strong foundation amongst our pre-competitive athletes while instilling a love of swimming for lifelong enrichment. Martin currently holds his National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP) swimming level 3 (trained)..
